Guelph based Ondine Chorus are releasing their first EP, “Towards a Little Light”. The E.P. features two original compositions and three stunning arrangements of traditional tunes. The CD release party will take place at the Macdonald Stewart Art Centre on Saturday March 29 2014 at 2:30 p.m. (Doors at 2:00 p.m.)

Mystery Theme: “Growing Old”
Fearing & White release their second album, Tea and Consequences on March 4 2014. The album, recorded at The Cottage in Guelph in January 2013, features Stephen Fearing and Andy White with Gary Craig on drums/percussion alongside special guests Guelph-based multi-instrumentalist Jeff Bird on harmonica and Lee Harvey Osmond’s Ray Farrugia (drums). Fearing and White are on tour in Western Canada during March and April, and will surely be coming through southern Ontario later in the year. Gathering Sparks will be celebrating the first day of Spring in Guelph with a special show at Magnolia Café on March 21 2014.
Fiddler and guitar duo Fiona McCairley & Bob MacLean take over Van Gogh’s Ear, Guelph on Sunday March 16 from 2-4 p.m. This pay what you can show promises to be energetic and engaging, and lots of fun. Fiona McCairley is an award-winning fiddler and Director of the Guelph Celtic Orchestra. Bob MacLean is founder of the Waterloo-Wellington Guitar Summit. The afternoon will also feature step-dancing from the McCairley sisters.

Traditional Quebec music is coming to Guelph in the shape of De Temps Antan. Éric Beaudry, André Brunet and Pierre-Luc Dupuis have been exploring and performing time-honoured melodies from the stomping grounds of Quebec’s musical past since 2003. Using fiddle, accordion, harmonica, guitar, bouzouki and a number of other instruments, the three virtuosos blend boundless energy with the unmistakable joie de vivre found only in traditional Quebec music.
The show takes place at Royal Canadian Legion, 57 Watson Parkway South, Guelph on March 17 2014 at 7:30 p.m.
