Folk Roots Radio Episode 398: feat. Noah Zacharin & More New Releases

Toronto singer-songwriter and guitarist Noah Zacharin joins us on Episode 398 of Folk Roots Radio for an in-depth conversation about “A Startle Of Wings”, his stripped down and intimate follow up to the genre-defying electric album “Strange Rider”, one of our favourite albums of 2016. We also check out new music from Sugar Brown, Judy Brown, Sue Foley, Cousin Harley and Laura Cortese & the Dance Cards. Check out the full playlist below.

Interview

Noah Zacharin‘s “Strange Rider” was a widescreen production with a kick ass band that moved effortlessly between blues, jazz, folk, pop and r n’ b, and even threw some doo-wop into the mix. His follow-up, “A Startle Of Wings”, sees Noah playing almost strictly solo acoustic guitar on a collection of 14 older songs that really shows the depth and quality of his songwriting. It’s a recording that Noah describes as best enjoyed in a quiet space with headphones, and an album that really deserves to be explored and savoured. That’s all we have time for, this time around. Thanks to all the artists who share their music with us, and thank you for listening. We have a lot of great music and interviews to bring you on future shows. I hope you’ll join us!
