Folk Roots Radio Episode 431: In Conversation with… David Storey

We’re giving over the whole of Episode 431 of Folk Roots Radio to an in-depth conversation with singer-songwriter David Storey. David Storey is probably best known as the executive producer and director of iconic Canadian comedy series and movie Corner Gas, but he’s also a pretty good songwriter. He’s just released his new album “made in Canada”, the follow-up to 2015’s “Coming Home”, one of our favourite albums of that year. David also plays four songs from the new album live in the studio. Andy has earned a global following based on his ability to blend folk and pop stylings with a poet’s sensibility. Joining Andy for this month’s show will be Peter Boyer and Same Latitude as Rome in support of their very well-received 2015 album “Early Days”. You might remember history class as boring but Same Latitude As Rome manage to make it come back to life. The second show of the Erin Roots live music series at The Busholme Inn in Erin takes place on Saturday October 24 at 7:30 p.m. and features the roots, bluesy, folky sound of Jen Gillmor and Dennis Gaumond as “Jennis” alongside the duelling banjos of the “Banjo Mechanics” Ian Pattison and Lewis Melville. Join us for an evening of fabulous live roots music that is sure to engage, delight and inspire. Each of the Erin Roots live shows will be taped for future broadcast on Erin Radio community radio station.

“Erin Roots” is an exciting new monthly roots music series taking place at The Busholme Inn in Erin ON. Erin Roots, a collaboration between Erin Radio and Folk Roots Radio, aims to bring affordable great live roots music to Erin while, at the same time, recording the shows for future broadcast. The first Erin Roots show takes on Saturday September 12 and features two fabulous singer-songwriters, Tannis Slimmon and Clela Errington. Crossover roots duo Jennis and The Banjo Mechanics take to the stage on October 24 with more shows to come.
