Episode 218: Jory Nash
On this week’s local edition of Folk Roots Radio we talk to Toronto-based singer-songwriter Jory Nash about his show in Guelph on November 6. We also take our final look at the nominees for this year’s Canadian Folk Music Awards. The awards will be handed out in Edmonton this coming weekend, November 6-8 . For more information on the awards visit folkawards.ca.
Award-winning singer-songwriter Jory Nash is back in Guelph on Friday November 6 for a show at Silence with another fine singer-songwriter, Guelph’s own Jane Lewis. Jory’s latest album “The Many Hats of Jory Nash”, a beautifully textured album of folk and folk-pop in the classic singer-songwriter tradition, was released earlier this year to glowing reviews, and has since garnered Canadian Folk Music Award nominations for Contemporary Singer of the Year and Producer of the Year. Advance tickets for the Jory Nash / Jane Lewis show are just $15 (no booking fee) and are available on Ticketscene here.
Andy White is back on tour in Canada during November in support of his great new album “How Things Are”. He’ll be appearing at Erin Roots at The Busholme Inn on Saturday November 14. Andy has earned a global following based on his ability to blend folk and pop stylings with a poet’s sensibility. He’s a fabulous live performer with a back catalogue of songs you’ll definitely want to get to know. Joining Andy for this month’s show will be Peter Boyer and Same Latitude as Rome in support of their very well-received 2015 album “Early Days”. You might remember history class as boring but Same Latitude As Rome manage to make it come back to life – Canadian history never sounded so good! Join us for an evening of fabulous live roots music that is sure to engage, delight and inspire!
