Folk Roots Radio Episode 620: Annie Sumi in Conversation – Solastalgia

We’ve given over the whole of Episode 620 of Folk Roots Radio to another in-depth interview as Ontario based singer-songwriter Annie Sumi joins us for an incredibly thought-provoking and inspiring conversation about her third studio album, “Solastalgia”. Solastalgia is a beautiful recording with a deep and powerful connection to the earth – that celebrates the marvels of the living world, while also sounding the alarm that we are starting to lose that connection as the natural environment comes under more and more pressure from human development activity and the impact of climate change. Heady stuff, for sure, but these are conversations we need to have. Solastalgia is an album that asks important questions, Where do we go now? and What can I do, as an individual, to make a difference? Lots of food for thought – our interview with Annie Sumi is definitely well-worth checking out. So, settle down and enjoy Annie Sumi… In Conversation… on Folk Roots Radio.

It’s a fascinating conversation about a really interesting album. Folk Roots Radio Episode 618: feat. Caroline Marie Brooks – Everything At The Same Time & More New Releases

Caroline Marie Brooks, from Canadian harmony trio Good Lovelies, joins us on Episode 618 of Folk Roots Radio to chat about her first solo album “Everything At The Same Time”, a wonderful recording with a lovely laidback reflective feel to it. It’s a fabulous conversation, and very inspiring. A nice glimpse into what drives an established artist, who has been very successful as part of a group, to step out on their own. We also check out new releases from Forest Sun, David Stone, Serious Child & Andy Ruddy, Dreamers’ Circus, Pat Byrne, John Hiatt with The Jerry Douglas Band and Janis Ian. Folk Roots Radio Episode 615: Our Favourite Albums of 2021

They are finally here – Our Favourite Albums of 2021! One of the best things about doing a radio show is getting loads of great music to listen to each week. One of the hardest things to do though is to take all that fabulous music and narrow it down to your ten favourite albums of the year. ‘Best of the year’ lists are very subjective and can only reflect the albums that you’ve actually received, but they are a fun way to reflect on a year gone by, and hopefully get people to check out music they may not have realized they actually like. Join us on this episode as we countdown The Top 10, and check out the rest of our long list in the playlist below. We’ll be dipping into The Next 40 on future episodes of Folk Roots Radio. Remember, if you like what you hear on Folk Roots Radio… and want to support the artists… don’t just stream their music, BUY their music and then you’ll really make a difference to their income during this difficult time when it’s really hard to find live show opportunities.
