After years out of the spotlight to raise a family, Kerri returned to the music scene in 2014 with her stunning self-titled Americana blues and roots album, “Kerri Powers”, a little bit country, a little bit bluesy and very rootsy it was one of our favourite albums of 2014. As usual, there’s lots of new music on this week’s show alongside our mystery theme and guilty pleasure.

Episode 142: Ondine Chorus & Joni Nehrita

Folk Roots Radio on March 22 2014 (Episode 142) featured two interviews. During the first hour, Sue Smith and Shannon Kingsbury from The Ondine Chorus joined us to chat about their new E.P. “Towards A Little Light”. Their album launch takes place on Saturday March 29 at 2 p.m. in Guelph at the Macdonald Stewart Art Centre. Later in the show, singer-songwriter Joni Nehrita joined us to talk about her varied musical interests, including her new jazz-styled (download) E.P. “Beginnings”. The Joni Nehrita Quintet play The Guelph Black Heritage Society, Essex St in Guelph on March 29 at 8 p.m.
