The Funky Mamas – In The Studio

The Funky Mamas joined us in the studio on October 13 2012 to chat and play songs from their new album “Pickin’ in the Garden”. The CD release concert takes place on Saturday October 20 at the Ignatius Jesuit Centre, just north of Woodlawn Ave on Highway 6. There will be two shows at 1.00 p.m. and 3.30 p.m. Tickets are very reasonably priced at $3 each or $10 for a family (suggested minimum donation) which sounds like an absolute steal. However, I’m sure they would love it if you decided to pay a little more and took a copy of their new CD home with you too!

The Funky Mamas specialize in music for everyone, children, families, even folkies! They feature ‘Mama Tannis’ – Tannis Maynard-Langedijk on guitar, ‘Mama Chantal’ – Chantal von Maydell on fiddle, ‘Mama Kate’ – Kate Vestula on banjo and banjo ukelele and ‘Mama Georgia’ – multi-instrumentalist Georgia Urban on pretty much everything else including the musical saw! Needless to say, they all like to sing. For more information, visit
